Responsibilities
- Conduct Retirement Eligibility Assessments: Analyze client profiles to determine eligibility for FERS, CSRS, and disability retirement benefits.
- TSP & Investment Guidance: Provide expert consultation on Thrift Savings Plan contributions, matching, and investment allocations.
- Benefit Calculations: Perform accurate calculations for basic annuities, survivor benefits, and cost-of-living adjustments (COLA).
- Client Advocacy: Serve as the primary point of contact for complex retirement inquiries, resolving issues efficiently and professionally.
- Compliance & Documentation: Prepare and review all necessary federal forms (SF-50, SF-2803, etc.) to ensure regulatory compliance.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in federal retirement consulting, HR, or financial planning with a focus on the public sector.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep understanding of OPM (Office of Personnel Management) regulations, FERS components, and TSP guidelines.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial audiences clearly and empathetically.
