Responsibilities
- Pension Administration: Process and evaluate pension claims and retirement applications in accordance with federal regulations and VA policies.
- Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to veterans and their families, answering inquiries regarding pension eligibility and benefits.
- Compliance: Ensure all records and documentation are accurate, complete, and compliant with privacy laws and agency standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the Claims Processing team and other federal agencies to resolve complex benefit issues.
- Reporting: Maintain detailed records and generate reports on pension trends and processing metrics.
- Training: Assist in training new staff members on pension procedures and software systems.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience: Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in pension administration, human resources, or claims processing.
- Skills: Strong knowledge of federal retirement systems and pension calculations.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and federal case management software.
