Responsibilities
- Manage and administer federal pension plans with strict adherence to ERISA and OPM regulations
- Process complex retirement claims and benefit calculations for federal employees
- Conduct audits to ensure pension fund compliance and financial accuracy
- Develop reports on pension fund performance for congressional oversight
- Collaborate with HR departments to resolve retirement eligibility disputes
- Train federal employees on pension plan options and enrollment procedures
- Implement strategic improvements to pension fund administration systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pension plan administration or federal benefits
- Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, QKA, or SHRM-CP) preferred
- Expert knowledge of federal retirement systems (FERS, CSRS) and OPM guidelines
- Advanced proficiency in pension administration software (e.g., Millennium, PeopleAdmin)
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial forecasting and risk assessment
- Ability to obtain and maintain a federal security clearance
