Responsibilities
- Oversee the calculation and disbursement of federal pension benefits for retirees in the Central Valley region.
- Review and process retirement applications, ensuring all documentation meets federal compliance standards.
- Provide expert guidance and counseling to federal employees regarding pension plans, survivor benefits, and retirement eligibility.
- Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies in pension calculations and address beneficiary inquiries promptly.
- Collaborate with the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) to ensure adherence to federal retirement regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and confidential records of all pension transactions and employee interactions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field (preferred).
- 3 to 5 years of experience in benefits administration, retirement planning, or a related government role.
- Strong working knowledge of the Federal Employees Retirement System (FERS) and OPM regulations.
- Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and eligible for a government security clearance (if applicable).
