Your Role
In this pivotal position, you will monitor patient health, administer medications, and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standard of care for Veterans during the overnight hours. You will utilize advanced electronic health records to document care and respond to emergent situations with precision and calm.
Responsibilities
- Monitor patient vitals and clinical status continuously throughout the night shift.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with federal protocols and VA policies.
- Respond immediately to emergency situations, utilizing BLS and ACLS certifications.
- Document patient care activities, assessments, and interventions in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop individualized care plans.
- Provide patient and family education regarding health conditions and treatment plans.
Qualifications
- Current, active, and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications required.
- U.S. Citizenship is required for federal employment.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a high-stress environment.
- Previous experience in a medical-surgical or critical care setting is highly preferred.
- Ability to pass a federal background investigation and drug screening.
