Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records (EHR) in compliance with VA protocols
- Process and verify medical documentation with precision and confidentiality
- Respond to urgent weekend record requests from clinical teams
- Conduct regular audits of data integrity and access logs
- Coordinate with weekend clinical staff for record retrieval needs
- Implement federal health information security standards
- Train weekend staff on record management procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIT or RHIA certification required
- Minimum 2 years healthcare records experience
- Expertise in EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and federal privacy laws
- Ability to work independently during weekend shifts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data analysis tools
- U.S. citizenship and federal background clearance
