Responsibilities
- Screen passengers, carry-on luggage, and cargo for prohibited items using advanced X-ray technology and manual search techniques
- Operate security equipment including metal detectors, trace detection systems, and baggage scanners
- Conduct thorough pat-down searches and baggage inspections when necessary
- Monitor security checkpoints to detect and respond to suspicious activities or threats
- Maintain accurate documentation of security incidents and screening activities
- Collaborate with law enforcement and airport personnel to ensure seamless security operations
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a TSA Security Screening badge
- Pass background investigation and drug screening
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to work in high-stress environments with diverse populations
