Responsibilities
- Process emergency/non-emergency calls with precision and empathy
- Dispatch police units using CAD systems during critical incidents
- Maintain accurate radio logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during disasters and crises
- Provide lifesaving instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Operate 911 systems and specialized communication equipment
- Adhere to HIPAA protocols for sensitive information handling
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to type 40+ WPM (verified by typing test)
- Clear criminal background check and drug screening
- Fluency in English (Spanish fluency preferred)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights/weekends
- Pass psychological evaluation and voice stress assessment
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- No felony convictions (misdemeanors reviewed case-by-case)
