Responsibilities
- Operate X-ray and metal detection equipment to screen carry-on and checked baggage
- Conduct thorough physical pat-down searches and body scanning of passengers
- Verify identification documents and boarding passes against passenger manifests
- Monitor security checkpoints and respond to suspicious activities or items
- Maintain accurate logs of security incidents and screening activities
- Provide courteous assistance to passengers with special needs or concerns
- Adhere to TSA protocols and security procedures at all times
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship required
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Valid state driver's license (if operating airport vehicles)
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle stressful situations
- Basic computer literacy and ability to learn security technologies
