Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain high-quality geospatial datasets and databases using ArcGIS and SQL.
- Create comprehensive maps, charts, and visualizations to support decision-making processes for engineering and public works.
- Perform spatial analysis to identify trends, patterns, and relationships within geographic data.
- Assist in the implementation of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology across various county departments.
- Train staff on GIS software tools and best practices for field data collection and accuracy.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, planning, and IT teams to integrate GIS solutions into daily operations.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with federal and state standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Proven experience with Esri ArcGIS (Desktop, Pro, and Server) and QGIS.
- Strong proficiency in SQL for database querying and data management.
- Familiarity with coding languages such as Python or JavaScript for geoprocessing automation.
- Experience with GPS/GNSS hardware and data collection methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced government environment.
