Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain accurate GIS maps and datasets for county projects.
- Collect, verify, and analyze spatial data from various sources to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in the creation of cartographic products for public reports and presentations.
- Utilize advanced GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) to perform spatial queries and analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate GIS data into broader business intelligence systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of GIS trends, best practices, and emerging technologies.
- Provide technical support and training to junior staff regarding mapping standards.
Qualifications
- Associateās degree in Geographic Information Systems, Urban Planning, Geography, or a related field; Bachelorās degree preferred.
- Proven experience with GIS software, specifically Esri ArcGIS Desktop and Server.
- Proficiency in SQL and basic programming knowledge (Python or JavaScript) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to troubleshoot complex data issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reporting.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid driverās license may be required for field data collection.
