Key Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of geospatial data management, from acquisition and analysis to dissemination through maps and web services.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain spatial databases and mapping systems using ArcGIS and QGIS.
- Analyze complex spatial data to support infrastructure planning, zoning, and environmental monitoring.
- Develop interactive web-based mapping applications and custom tools for internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with federal and state standards.
- Provide technical support and training to county staff on GIS software and data interpretation.
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, and public health departments to visualize project data.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- 3+ years of professional experience in GIS analysis, cartography, or database management.
- Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, Python (ArcPy), SQL, and REST APIs.
- Experience with geodatabase design and web mapping services (ArcGIS Server/Portal).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Valid Driver’s License required (for occasional field site visits).
