Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce federal, state, and local government compliance regulations for public works projects
- Conduct thorough audits of construction sites and documentation to ensure adherence to safety protocols
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for city council and regulatory agencies
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective action plans
- Train staff on updated government regulations and compliance procedures
- Manage vendor contracts to ensure all contractual obligations are met
- Represent the department in compliance-related meetings and hearings
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in government compliance or public sector auditing
- Strong knowledge of federal/state/local regulations (OSHA, EPA, ADA)
- Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or similar certification preferred
- Exceptional written communication and report-writing skills
- Proficiency with compliance software and data analysis tools
- Ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines
- Valid Kansas driver's license required
