Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local and wide-area networks, ensuring high availability and security for government systems.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and support hardware and software applications used by agency staff and the public.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement digital transformation initiatives and improve citizen access.
- Ensure strict compliance with state cybersecurity policies, data privacy regulations, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Conduct regular system audits and performance monitoring to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Provide technical support and training to departmental staff regarding new technologies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT support, network administration, or a related field within the public sector or government environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Microsoft Server environments (Active Directory).
- Experience with government security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, FISMA) is highly desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid Driver's License and the ability to travel to various state facilities within the Milwaukee area.
