Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for internal government agencies and departments.
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and related hardware/software infrastructure.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and city cybersecurity policies and data protection regulations.
- Monitor system performance, security logs, and troubleshoot network incidents to minimize downtime.
- Conduct system upgrades, patch management, and software installations across multiple platforms.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable technology solutions for city services.
- Document technical procedures and create user guides for staff and the public.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in IT support, system administration, or network engineering.
- Familiarity with government IT standards, security clearances, and compliance frameworks.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- NY State residency is preferred for this position.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
