Responsibilities
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of public infrastructure, including roads and sanitation systems.
- Respond to citizen inquiries regarding city services and address complaints in a professional and timely manner.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records of work orders, inspections, and facility maintenance.
- Operate heavy and light machinery and hand tools safely according to OSHA guidelines.
- Collaborate with a diverse team of engineers, inspectors, and fellow staff members.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal safety regulations and municipal codes.
- Monitor site conditions to identify potential hazards or issues requiring immediate attention.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in public works, sanitation, or a related government field.
- Ability to obtain a valid Indiana driver’s license and maintain a clean driving record.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Must pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical examination.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
