Responsibilities
- Review, verify, and process pension benefit applications and retirement claims with high accuracy.
- Calculate retirement payments, survivor benefits, and cost-of-living adjustments in accordance with state regulations.
- Conduct regular audits of pension records to ensure compliance with federal and state laws.
- Provide exceptional customer service and technical support to retirees and their beneficiaries via phone, email, and in-person.
- Collaborate with the payroll and finance departments to resolve discrepancies in pension data.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive personnel and financial information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in pension administration, government benefits, or actuarial science.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for data analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a focus on customer service.
- Ability to interpret complex government regulations and apply them to individual cases.
- Must be a U.S. citizen and pass a background check.
