Responsibilities
- Calculate and process monthly pension benefits for eligible retirees and beneficiaries with high accuracy.
- Review and verify employee service records, salary history, and contribution statements to determine eligibility.
- Ensure strict compliance with ERISA, FERS, and state-specific pension laws and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service by responding to inquiries regarding pension calculations, withdrawal options, and survivor benefits.
- Prepare and maintain accurate, up-to-date pension files and documentation for all active and retired members.
- Collaborate with the HR and Finance departments to resolve discrepancies in payroll data and pension contributions.
- Assist in the annual audit process and the preparation of required government reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or government finance.
- Strong working knowledge of federal and state retirement laws (ERISA, FERS, State Pension Acts).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel for complex data analysis.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of explaining complex financial concepts to non-financial staff.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial data with integrity.
