Responsibilities
- Analyze local, state, and federal legislation to assess impact on city operations and residents
- Research emerging urban policy trends and best practices for municipal governance
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and recommendations for city council and executive leadership
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to implement strategic initiatives
- Monitor policy outcomes and evaluate effectiveness through data-driven analysis
- Engage with community stakeholders and public interest groups to gather input
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in government policy analysis or public sector research
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (Excel, SPSS, or R)
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of municipal governance structures and processes
- Ability to synthesize complex information into actionable recommendations
- Experience with public engagement strategies and community outreach
- Valid Indiana driver's license required
