Responsibilities
- Research and identify federal, state, and private grant opportunities aligned with organizational goals
- Develop compelling grant proposals and applications demonstrating program impact and community need
- Collaborate with program teams to gather data and write persuasive narratives
- Manage grant reporting requirements and ensure compliance with funder guidelines
- Build relationships with foundation representatives and government agencies
- Maintain accurate grant tracking database and reporting schedules
- Analyze funding trends and recommend strategic grant acquisition approaches
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, or related field
- 3+ years professional grant writing experience with $1M+ secured funding track record
- Proven success with federal/state grants (e.g., HUD, CDC, California Health Foundation)
- Exceptional writing skills with ability to translate complex programs into compelling narratives
- Advanced proficiency in grant management databases (e.g., Salesforce NPSP, GrantStation)
- Strong analytical skills for budget development and outcome measurement
- Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and indirect cost rates
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment
