Responsibilities
- Research and identify new grant opportunities from federal, state, and private foundations relevant to our mission in Newark.
- Develop and write clear, persuasive, and compliant grant proposals, narratives, and budgets.
- Manage the full grant lifecycle, including tracking deadlines, maintaining records, and submitting applications.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with funding organizations and stakeholders.
- Analyze funding trends to advise leadership on strategic fundraising goals.
- Prepare required reports and deliverables to ensure continued funding and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in grant writing and fundraising.
- Strong research skills with the ability to find niche funding sources.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software (e.g., Foundant, Blackbaud).
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
