Responsibilities
- Maintain and audit electronic health record systems (EHR) for accuracy and regulatory compliance
- Implement health information policies and procedures aligned with federal standards
- Coordinate data migration and system upgrades for medical records infrastructure
- Train clinical staff on EHR documentation best practices
- Conduct regular risk assessments for health information security
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to resolve system issues
- Prepare compliance reports for VA and external regulatory bodies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in EHR administration
- Proficiency in VA-specific health information systems
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA, HITECH, and VA privacy policies
- Experience with data analytics and quality improvement initiatives
- Ability to obtain and maintain VA background clearance
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
