Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Oversee health information coding, indexing, and retrieval processes
- Implement data quality controls and audit procedures for medical records
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation
- Support health information system upgrades and optimization projects
- Conduct regular compliance reviews and implement corrective actions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in health information management
- Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., VistA, Epic)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, VA, and CMS regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- U.S. citizenship required
