Responsibilities
- Maintain and secure electronic health records in compliance with HIPAA and VA policies
- Implement health information systems upgrades and process improvements
- Conduct audits for regulatory compliance and data integrity
- Train staff on health information management best practices
- Coordinate with IT teams for system integration and security enhancements
- Manage release of information requests following federal guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' health information management experience
- Proficiency in EHR systems (Epic preferred)
- Knowledge of HIPAA, VA directives, and federal healthcare regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
