Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain electronic health records (EHR) systems in compliance with HIPAA and VA regulations
- Oversee health information coding, indexing, and quality assurance processes
- Implement data privacy and security protocols for sensitive veteran health information
- Coordinate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping
- Conduct audits and compliance reviews for health information management practices
- Train staff on EHR systems and information management best practices
- Collaborate with IT teams on system upgrades and data migration projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management or related field
- RHIA or RHIT certification required
- Minimum 3 years' experience in healthcare information management
- Proficiency with Epic EHR systems and coding standards (ICD-10, CPT)
- Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security regulations
- Experience with federal healthcare compliance frameworks
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- U.S. citizenship required for federal position
