Responsibilities
- Execute heavy construction and maintenance tasks including excavation, grading, and paving
- Operate heavy machinery (excavators, rollers, dump trucks) with precision and safety
- Perform infrastructure inspections and repairs on roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Adhere to OSHA standards and maintain accurate work documentation
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors on complex public works projects
- Implement erosion control and environmental safety protocols
- Participate in emergency response for critical infrastructure failures
Qualifications
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean record
- Minimum 3 years heavy equipment operation experience
- OSHA 10/30 certification or willingness to obtain immediately
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Proficiency with GPS survey equipment and construction software
- Pass federal background check and pre-employment physical
- Strong knowledge of Caltrans and municipal construction standards
- Emergency response certification preferred
