Responsibilities
- Execute heavy civil construction tasks including excavation, grading, and concrete pouring
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, excavators, dump trucks) with precision
- Install/maintain public utilities (water lines, storm drains, traffic signals)
- Adhere to OSHA/CAL-OSHA safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Read blueprints and technical schematics for infrastructure projects
- Maintain project documentation and daily progress reports
- Collaborate with engineers and supervisors on complex municipal projects
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of heavy construction or public works experience
- Valid California Class B Driver's License (CDL preferred)
- Certification in heavy equipment operation (e.g., CAT, Komatsu)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required
- Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Knowledge of Caltrans and city of Fresno construction standards
- Pass pre-employment background/drug screening
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) candidates strongly preferred
