Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor for infrastructure maintenance including road repair, drainage systems, and park upkeep
- Operate light machinery (e.g., jackhammers, compactors, street sweepers) with proper safety protocols
- Assist in construction projects including sidewalk installation, traffic signal maintenance, and debris removal
- Conduct daily inspections of public facilities and report hazards or maintenance needs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project timelines and quality standards
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment usage records
- Adhere to all OSHA regulations and city safety procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Texas Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or related field
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and construction materials
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (training provided if needed)
- Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends during emergencies
