Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce federal compliance standards across VA healthcare facilities in Northern California
- Conduct audits of veteran service programs to ensure adherence to 38 CFR regulations
- Develop and implement corrective action plans for compliance deficiencies
- Collaborate with legal counsel and department heads on regulatory updates
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for senior leadership and congressional oversight
- Train staff on federal healthcare compliance protocols and best practices
- Represent the VA in external audits and regulatory reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Healthcare Compliance, or related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in federal regulatory compliance or healthcare auditing
- Active VA employee or eligible for federal appointment (US citizenship required)
- Proficiency in VA-specific systems (Vista, Cerner) and compliance software
- Knowledge of 38 CFR Title 38 and HIPAA regulations
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
