Responsibilities

  • Implement and Maintain Security Protocols: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of security measures for federal information systems, ensuring compliance with FISMA and agency-specific policies.
  • Incident Response & Monitoring: Monitor system activity for security breaches, investigate potential incidents, and coordinate response efforts to mitigate threats effectively.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience: At least one year of specialized experience comparable to the GS-9 level. Experience must demonstrate a practical understanding of computer systems, network security, and risk management frameworks.
  • Certifications: Active Secret or Top Secret clearance is preferred. Relevant certifications such as CISSP, Security+, CEH, or GSEC are highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with network security tools, firewalls (e.g., Cisco, Palo Alto), SIEM solutions (e.g., Splunk, QRadar), and Windows/Linux server administration.
