Responsibilities
- Lead incident response for federal systems using SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar)
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration testing on classified networks
- Develop and implement zero-trust architecture security controls
- Coordinate with CISA and FBI on threat intelligence integration
- Mandate NIST 800-53 compliance for all agency systems
- Train staff on cybersecurity best practices and phishing prevention
- Manage AWS/GCP cloud security configurations and IAM policies
- Prepare detailed compliance reports for OMB and congressional review
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on cybersecurity experience with federal systems
- Active CISSP, Security+, or CEH certification (required)
- Expert knowledge of FISMA, NIST, and FedRAMP frameworks
- Proficiency in Python/Bash for automation scripting
- Secret clearance (must obtain Top Secret within 90 days)
- Experience with CMMC Level 3 compliance processes
- Ability to work rotating on-call shifts for critical incidents
