Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs) across city facilities.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems, including servers, workstations, and peripherals.
- Monitor network performance and security to ensure data integrity and protect against cyber threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support the deployment of new government applications and digital initiatives.
- Provide technical support and training to city staff regarding software usage and system procedures.
- Perform regular system backups, audits, and updates to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in network administration or IT support.
- Valid certification such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, during system maintenance windows.
