Responsibilities
- Implement and Manage Security Protocols: Design, implement, and maintain robust cybersecurity measures to protect federal information systems from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- System Administration: Oversee the daily operations of network infrastructure, servers, and hardware to ensure maximum uptime and performance for agency operations.
- Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Provide advanced technical support to agency staff, diagnosing and resolving complex IT issues efficiently to minimize downtime.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all IT activities adhere to strict federal regulations, including NIST standards and agency policies, maintaining detailed technical documentation.
- Project Management: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan, execute, and deliver IT projects on time and within budget.
- Training & Mentorship: Conduct training sessions for junior staff and stakeholders on new technologies and security best practices.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.
- Experience: At least 5 years of specialized experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or cybersecurity.
- Certifications: Preference given for holders of certifications such as CISSP, Security+, or CEH.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic federal environment with shifting priorities.
