Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT infrastructure systems, including local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure 99.9% uptime for critical federal applications.
- Enforce federal cybersecurity protocols and conduct regular security audits to protect sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support digital transformation initiatives and modernize legacy systems.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior staff members and end-users regarding software usage and best practices.
- Manage software licenses, hardware inventory, and vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective IT operations.
Qualifications
- Citizenship Requirement: U.S. Citizenship is mandatory for this federal position.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; additional years of experience may substitute for education.
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in IT system administration or network engineering.
- Certifications: Must possess or be able to obtain CompTIA Security+, Network+, or equivalent certifications within 6 months of hire.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server, Active Directory, Cisco routers/switches, and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Clearance.
