In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust network solutions that ensure the seamless operation of critical government services.
Responsibilities
- Network Architecture: Design, configure, and maintain local and wide-area network infrastructure to meet organizational needs.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity issues and hardware failures efficiently.
- Security Management: Implement and monitor network security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems to protect sensitive data.
- Vendor Coordination: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers for network equipment and maintenance.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced technical support and training to state employees regarding network systems and software.
- Documentation: Maintain up-to-date network diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certifications: Active CCNA, Security+, or equivalent industry certification is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in network administration or systems engineering.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking hardware and software.
- Compliance: Ability to adhere to Arizona State IT standards, security policies, and compliance regulations.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical staff.
