Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local and wide-area networks (LAN/WAN) to ensure optimal performance.
- Configure, install, and troubleshoot server hardware and operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
- Implement and monitor security measures to protect county data and infrastructure from cyber threats.
- Provide technical support and guidance to county staff regarding software applications and hardware peripherals.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform preventative maintenance to ensure system availability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and deploy IT solutions that meet business needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and hardware components.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Certification such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CCNA is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical users.
