Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and server infrastructure to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Implement and monitor cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, encryption, and access controls, to protect sensitive state data.
- Provide advanced technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues for end-users across the agency.
- Conduct system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to optimize IT resources.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new software solutions and manage IT projects.
- Document technical procedures and maintain accurate inventory records for all hardware and software assets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in IT systems administration, network engineering, or technical support.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, Linux environments, and virtualization technologies.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator are highly desirable.
- Proven ability to diagnose complex technical problems and provide effective solutions under pressure.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for interfacing with non-technical staff and management.
