Responsibilities
- Monitor and analyze cybersecurity threats across federal networks using SIEM tools
- Conduct incident response investigations and remediation for security breaches
- Develop and implement security policies compliant with NIST and FISMA standards
- Collaborate with IT teams to conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration tests
- Prepare detailed security reports for senior leadership and congressional stakeholders
- Manage IAM systems including privileged access controls and identity verification
- Lead cross-agency cybersecurity initiatives under DHS directives
Qualifications
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain DHS security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, IT, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years in cybersecurity with federal/government experience preferred
- CompTIA Security+ or CISSP certification required
- Proficiency in SIEM platforms (Splunk, QRadar) and vulnerability scanners
- Strong knowledge of NIST SP 800-53 security controls
- Experience with cloud security (AWS/Azure) and zero-trust architectures
- Excellent analytical and communication skills for stakeholder briefings
