Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Sort incoming mail manually and electronically to ensure accurate distribution to local routes.
- Deliver Mail: Drive delivery vehicles along assigned routes to deliver mail and parcels to residential and business addresses in Baltimore.
- Customer Service: Provide professional, courteous, and efficient service to the public, including handling package signatures and forwarding mail.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of assigned delivery vehicles to ensure safety and compliance.
- Physical Tasks: Lift packages weighing up to 70 lbs and navigate various terrains and weather conditions throughout the workday.
- Mail Collection: Collect outgoing mail from blue collection boxes and post office lobby drop slots.
Qualifications
- Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or have permanent resident status.
- Driver’s License: Valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record.
- Background Check: Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
- Physical Fitness: Must be able to perform the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and lifting.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong ability to follow instructions and manage time effectively.
