Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on city facilities, parks, and transportation infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including forklifts, trenchers, and street sweepers
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms and public safety events
- Conduct routine inspections of playground equipment, benches, and public amenities
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA and municipal safety protocols
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and inventory
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 2+ years facilities maintenance experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour Construction Safety certification preferred
- Experience operating power tools, heavy equipment, and irrigation systems
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
- Excellent communication skills for public interaction
- Pass pre-employment background check and physical agility test
