Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service assisting patrons with library resources, technology, and program inquiries
- Process circulation transactions including check-outs, returns, and renewals using ILS systems
- Organize and maintain library collections, including shelving, shelf-reading, and inventory management
- Assist with planning and execution of community outreach programs and events
- Support digital literacy initiatives by helping patrons with computers, e-books, and online resources
- Contribute to a welcoming, inclusive environment for all community members
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework preferred
- Minimum 6 months customer service or public-facing experience
- Proficiency with basic computer applications and willingness to learn library-specific software
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively in a team setting
- Excellent communication skills with ability to serve diverse populations
- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by library schedule
- Ability to stand for extended periods and push loaded book carts (up to 50 lbs)
