Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal buildings, parks, and public facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, loaders, and specialized equipment safely
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests during extreme weather events
- Conduct safety inspections and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain detailed work logs and inventory records
- Support community outreach initiatives during public events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of facility maintenance or construction experience
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
- Philadelphia residency required within 6 months of hire
