Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal facilities, parks, and public infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including dump trucks, graders, and landscaping equipment
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and city protocols
- Respond to emergency maintenance calls and weather-related incidents
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Conduct site inspections and document maintenance activities
- Assist in public event setup and venue preparation
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years experience in public works or facility maintenance
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and power tools
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in outdoor conditions
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
