Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of public infrastructure including streets, sidewalks, and drainage systems.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as dump trucks, graders, and backhoes safely and efficiently.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents (e.g., snow removal, flood control).
- Inspect public facilities and roadways to ensure safety compliance and city code adherence.
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices, signs, and guardrails.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and equipment storage area.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Texas Driverβs License required; Class A preferred.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction equipment, tools, and machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical manuals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
