Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city facilities, parks, and public infrastructure
- Operate light machinery including mowers, trimmers, and power tools safely and efficiently
- Conduct daily inspections of assigned areas to identify hazards or maintenance needs
- Assist in emergency response for weather-related incidents or public safety concerns
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and equipment status
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on community improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with city regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid California Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in facility maintenance, landscaping, or related field
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of hand/power tools and equipment operation
- Strong commitment to public service and community values
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- OSHA 10-hour certification preferred (training provided)
