Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance on city parks, playgrounds, and green spaces including mowing, landscaping, and equipment repair
- Operate light machinery (mowers, trimmers, trucks) safely and efficiently
- Assist with street maintenance projects including sign installation and minor repairs
- Respond to weather emergencies (snow removal, storm debris cleanup) as needed
- Conduct safety inspections of public facilities and report hazards
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams for coordinated public service initiatives
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in maintenance preferred
- Valid Oklahoma driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
- Experience operating landscaping/maintenance equipment
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of municipal safety protocols and environmental regulations
- Strong teamwork skills with ability to follow oral and written instructions
