Responsibilities
- Maintain and repair city buildings, parks, and recreational facilities
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, mowers, and snow removal equipment
- Perform routine inspections of public infrastructure (sidewalks, roads, signage)
- Respond to emergency service calls during weather events
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams on municipal projects
- Adhere to OSHA safety protocols and city maintenance standards
- Document work activities and maintain equipment logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Valid Nebraska Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with airbrake endorsement
- 2+ years experience in facility maintenance or groundskeeping
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and carpentry repairs
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
- Clean background check and pre-employment drug screening required
