Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on municipal infrastructure, including roads, sidewalks, and parks.
- Operate heavy machinery and vehicles such as dump trucks, backhoes, and snowplows.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Maintain cleanliness of public facilities and waste management areas.
- Inspect equipment and tools to ensure proper functioning and report maintenance needs.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while on the job site.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Certified Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) preferred but not always required.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Valid Maryland driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of construction tools and equipment is a plus.
- Strong commitment to public service and community integrity.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
