Key Responsibilities:
As a Municipal Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible for a variety of essential tasks including but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of public streets, sidewalks, and parks, including litter removal and snow removal.
- Operate and maintain municipal equipment, including dump trucks, street sweepers, and mowers.
- Inspect public infrastructure for damage, wear, and safety hazards; report findings to supervisors.
- Assist in the installation and repair of traffic signs, guardrails, and basic landscaping.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, OSHA standards, and city ordinances during daily operations.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests and weather-related incidents during inclement weather.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class C Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing for extended periods, and operating heavy machinery.
- Previous experience in public works, landscaping, or construction is highly preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Strong commitment to public service and community safety.
