Responsibilities
- Maintain, repair, and resurface streets, sidewalks, curbs, and gutters throughout San Diego.
- Operate and maintain heavy construction equipment, including graders, rollers, and asphalt pavers.
- Perform traffic control duties, including flagging operations and setting up temporary signage.
- Inspect work sites to ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards and engineering specifications.
- Respond to emergency repair requests during inclement weather or critical infrastructure failures.
- Load, unload, and prepare construction materials and tools for daily projects.
- Collaborate with a team of engineers and technicians to complete projects on schedule.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED).
- Valid California Class C Driver’s License and a satisfactory driving record.
- Physical ability to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working in extreme weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials, road maintenance techniques, and surveying tools.
- Ability to read blueprints, maps, and technical specifications.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends as required for project deadlines.
